Cultural events: Loizia 2008

The Cultural Association of Glossa Skopelou, upholding the tradition of the last 25 years, has organized this summer’s cultural events:«Loizia 2008. The six day festival (July 27 to August 1st) includes:

• Sunday, July 27: Michalis Tzouganakis’ live concert.
• Monday, July 28: Storytelling night of folk stories. Storyteller;Stelios Pelasgos, canon; Dominique Mavridou
• Tuesday, July 29:Classic guitar recital with Giorgos Foudoulis and Franciszek and Katarina Wieczorke (Poland)
• Wednesday, July 30: Music Tribute to Nikos Gatsos by the band of pupils and students of the 1st and 3rd Lyceum of Marousi, Attica
• Thursday, July 31: "ODYSSEVACH" A play by the theatre school of the municipality of Pano Polemidia, Cyprus
• Friday, August 1st :Traditional adult and children dance groups of the Cultural Association of Glossa.Dance tribute to our fishermen.
  
  The events will be held at the sporting facilities of the schools of Glossa, and there will be a parallel photography exhibition from the personal collection of local artist Vaggelis Maroulis, a book exhibition, an iconography exhibition from the local group of icon painting, as well as exhibitions by local artists Alexis Angelis and Magda Rodios. Moreover, there will be stands by Non Governmental Organizations like Amnesty International, Arcturos, Mediterranean SOS Network, etc., as well as by local organizations like the Agrotourism Co-operative of the Women of Glossa, etc.
